Right...could they make weapons from 1,000AD? 1500 AD? 1800 AD?

It's funny, I think of this in terms of the tactical situation whereas others are thinking of the more important strategic. If you fire a round from an M1 at a building 1500 yards away and it disappears...if you do that right you can achieve a very desirable effect with the people of the time.
