I don't think there's reputable science that backs up the idea that you get sick from the flu shot. Likely, people would get sick with or without the shot. The flu shot is given during Flu Season.
My last year without the flu shot was miserable. I was really sick for 2-4 weeks twice that winter. It's what drove me to get it. Since then I've had very mild cases of illness at best.
I get what you're saying. I'm facing the same thing but this is one of the cases where it's really not that bad, the point of it aside.
