But (here I'll stereotype a bit) I'm guess they are young, maybe even a little immature, if they're shouting. Perhaps a short chat would/could/might have an effect. Probably not immediate (people hate admitting their wrong) but maybe you'd plant the seed of a better idea for them.

Or maybe not. That's a definite possibility, so I understand your hesitancy to waste time. But maybe 5 minutes, once, just in case? At worst, you lose 5 minutes.
