That's pretty much where I was leading the witness. It's why the US has the Tea Party - it's people worried about their jobs, their retirement and

their health costs. They've been told that if they work hard they'll be OK and that deficits don't matter, social security will still be there etc, when really it's been pointed out for years and years - since at least the 80s - that it's unsustainable.
But no one's saying "fuck the US".
Of course, the US isn't explicitly asking other countries to bail them out (though it has borrowed a hell of a lot of other countries' money)
