Because being the 7th member of a tight-knit 6-member alliance is SOOOO much better than being the red-headed step-child in a 6-member alliance. Cochran could have turned this around, found out where the votes were going, and flipped it back on Coach. He still can (at the expense of Keith) but it's going to be hard to get Ozzie and Co. to trust him again.
