I've wanted something to stop the unproductive computerized quick trading for a while, but I'm not sure this will do that.

DeFazio says "�The first step on the long path to recovery happens when we rein in the excessive speculative activity that has destabilized our financial system" but the blog entry goes on to say the tax rate is very low. If the rate is very low, then how is this going to curb anything? It will generate revenue, but won't stop the activity.
If this truly de-stabilized our economy, forget they money grab and just ban it.
