i used one at work for years - good for both privacy and glare.

(used until the accident, that is. who knows what i'll have/need whenever i get back to whatever.)
loyola, they're good at blocking from the sides (at least the 3M version i had), but not from directly behind you. my set-up was such that this worked well. if someone needed to collaborate with me, i'd take the shield off.
