ty, YMMV with them, but ABC was the health insurance provider that this office filed a class action suit against.

They were basically illegally ("allegedly") closing blocks of business forcing higher risk insureds to either undergo new medical underwriting for new coverage which allowed them to either increase their premiums or deny them coverage all together (this applied to individual members only, so that (and depending on how strong your state's insurance commissioner is) is where YMMV.

The case was settled, in the class' favor; individual members were given the opportunity to change coverage without medical underwriting (through 2014, when that part of "Obamacare" would protect them in any event). We still get calls from ABC members telling us that they've received the second, third, fourth, etc. rate increase in the past year...etc., so there are a lot of people, here in California, again individual plan members, who are none to happy with Anthem Blue Cross from that standpoint.
