When we had those 3 straight weeks (Dec and Jan) of snow every day and temps that were below zero at night and in the singles and teens in the daytime, they closed schools early ONE day (early last week) when we were predicted to get 8-12 inches by evening (we did). Man, they never hardley close for ice or snow here, I would have hated that when was a kid. Snow days were magic.
