Cuz ST is smart....got into a semantic arguement with friends...what is the difference between dating and going out with someone?
|
I contend they are the same but friends say dating is serious and regular and going out is casual and no biggie
Yes this came about cause one friend was trying to set me up on a date and I am not interested in daring or going out right now and I said no dating and they said no bigie its just going out
WTF does that mean?

it means your friends are also children, because only children think there's a difference, and it's time to step your game up to adults in all facets. -- nm

Dating has a romantic component or the prospect of a romantic component.

in the seventh grade way, "going out with" is "going steady." who even cares, though?

I thought "going out" was basically the same as "hanging out" which could be just as platonic as romantic. Dating is more serious. -- nm

i guess "dating" points to multiple dates. "going out" is just once. so i can see their point. really they're just doing what they can to talk you
