I made this over the weekend. It tastes exactly!! Like the Outback Blooming Onion. Well it should, it's the same recipe.

My first one was off. The trick is to thoroughly cover all the way down to the base with the batter mixture. Thorough coverage on the second one, made it taste exactly like the restaurant version.

Was fantastic. I am going to do this again for Superbowl.
