Actually, insulin injections is a better treatment for diabetes than meds. We just start people on meds because they

don't want to do injections or associate injections with worse disease.
One of the diabetic drugs actually expedites the demise of the insulin producing cells (which is somewhat good because it then forces the person to go on insulin allowing for better control of their diabetes).
