Like a mug or ornament of a local, prominent building or landmark. Of course, food is always good but no cheese, please, unless you don't mind me re-gifting it.
I collect rubber duckies, but special ones. The last one I bought, in Petoskey, also doubles as a tape measure (pull it's tail for the tape). Anything other than your run-of-the-mill bathtub toy or character duck (unless it's specific to your locale).
I also have a small collection of salt & pepper shakers. These are mostly of cartoon-like characters - but not specific characters (except for my first ones - Pinky & the Brain). I have mostly dogs and some duck sets. I also have a pair of cats, one of whom is a Red Hat Lady. I also have a pair of hippos, one pair of bears and one of fish.
Cool Christmas ornaments are good, too. My Christmas Tree is white so, please, nothing white.
I will try to answer polls but it will probably be hours after the post because I can't do ST during work. So favorite the polls if you want ideas. You shouldn't fret if you feel you're not coming up with the "best" thing. Go local. I'm happy just to participate.
