I honestly believed he'd get 1,200 yards this year. I did *not* think he would pace for 1,800 yards.

The thing about Steve Smith that's rare is that defensive coordinators have never demonstrated the ability to take him out of games. Even when they shell folds toward his side of the field, he can still get open at the last instant to make catches. That is a potent combination with Newton's accuracy.
