One of the saddest parts of looking after my friend is dealing with his parents' husky...

...It's a beautiful dog, but completely unruly and always fighting with my friend's pit bull. However, Huskies are working dogs, just like corgis, so there are ways to get through to them. I have turned her into a decently behaved dog. The parents have offered her to me, but I can't take on another dog with issues.
The sad thing is that the Husky has decided that she is my dog. She follows me around, sits at my feet, greets me first when I walk in. She knows the sound of my car and goes to the door to wait for me when I drive over. In short, she's doing all the right things that a good dog should do around her master. The problem is that she's not my dog, and she's eventually going to go back to New Mexico (and who gets a Husky in super hot NW?) with the parents. She's going to be really heartbroken.
