ST Opinions: If someone is on the rebound, and they go out with someone who is also in the same boat, is that still rebounding...or something sadder?

Reason I ask: at the bar last night, there was a couple that were out on a date (probably first date). they spent the ENTIRE time talk about their recently ended marriages.
I figured they were going to get it on later, since they seemed to be at least attracted enough to each other for a one night stand.
My wife said, no, they're both rebounding and will shy away from the physical stuff. She claims that for rebound sexin to happen, one person has to NOT be on the rebound.
Then it broke down into an argument over what kind of people rebounders look for, and what kind of people seek out someone on the rebound. Predatory? Someone who like to comfort, but doesn't want commitment?
Just rambling...
