I think it's only a few episodes short.

I think it started earlier than some other shows and hasn't really taken a week off. Next week will be episode 11, then a break until the beginning of January (when every other show is on a break as well). If they don't skip a week, they'll hit episode 20 on the finale. That's a few episodes short of a full season. I would prefer a full season, but I like a 20-episode season more than a 0-episode season. I think it's a mistake as well, and they should get the long 24-episode season.
I also agree about Amber and her hairstyle changes.
