I understand that they had to do 13 episodes, for less than they spent (on 6 epis) last year. So we get a season or so of filler.

or maybe just a half season (*crosses fingers).
Yet, this barn season, is brutal. First 10 minutes of the season, Daryl's 10 minutes in the middle, and the last 10 minutes are truly the highlights.
I acknowledge Kirkman, and what he has created, etc...but, Trotting Kirkman out, on Talking Dead and for articles, to make us believe it hasn't been subpar, and to hype us up is getting old.
AND He gets so weird (on TV/Talking Dead), when people are spit balling possible plot lines. His poker face, is god awful, you can tell, even in the articles, when people have hit the mark about what is upcoming.
