It was several years ago. I don't remember if I had an eyepatch - I want to say I didn't. It was a strange experience. Dark room with a bright light shining at my eye. Maybe a little discomfort when he anesthetized the eye. Also some stretching pain (that's the only way I can describe it) after but very minor.

If you have floaters now they may not all get reabsorbed (he told me they probably would). I still have them. But that's better than not seeing at all out of that eye.
