If the guy (then again it could be a girl) does get the sex he expects, it's consensual, both people get what they want. If not, the other person only wasted some time.

In this case, unless the guys were looking to pay dinner for a girl they'd never see again, they got screwed, whether they were just looking for sex a more serious relationship
