What Cochran did is not the stupidest move in the history of the game. It probably doesn't even make the top five in that regard.
What Cochran is, however, the most detrimental move in the history of the game. One person's sheer stupidity managed to eliminate four people with the one who made the move likely to go last week and another's fate up in the air. It proved to be such a devastating move that it would be difficult to duplicate in the future. There would have to be even teams, one person would have to make a similarly moronic decision and the other tribe would have to remain loyal until they had exterminated their opponents. It boggles the mind how much of a chain reaction his incompetence triggers.
