WD - the friend betrayed her trust during an especially fragile time, period.

If I have to hear "it's hormones" or "they're just excited!" as reasons to dismiss the mother's wishes one more time I'm going to hurl.

I would advise against trying to justify the friend's behavior; just be a shoulder when Mrs. needs to vent about it. She'll figure out what she wants to do about the friendship eventually.

Personally I'm a little worried about family/friends playing pass-the-baby before I've had a chance to see her and have any sort of contact during the "golden hour" after birth. Just seeing her wouldn't be a huge deal to me, but that's me. Especially if I have to go under general anesthesia. It *is* very scary to have thus experience so completely out of my hands.
