I was joking, but the expectation that family and frieds should all be allowed to show up is clearly an extroverted one :)

I can see it both ways - personally, i know it wouldnt be for my wofe and i. But also, everyone showing up is a way of saying "welcome to the family". It's a celebration, like a wedding or even a funeral
