He's done two episodes. One at the end of last season and one last week.

That hardly constitutes joining the cast.
Unless there was news I missed. I hope there wasn't, because he works some as a guest star but wouldn't as a regular. They weren't even able to regular give material to Jimmy's friends, so they ditched them pretty early on.
