For your sake, and mine, I hope the Cubs are unable to convince the O's to take Soriano.

Which they are trying to do.

My best guess is that it's part of some elaborate revenge plot due to the O's part in the Red Sox collapse.

I don't care if the Cubs eat his entire salary, I don't want Soriano. Though I'd do the deal if it was Gregg for Soriano and the Cubs paid enough of his salary that the O's could just cut him.
