I looked around and saw how quickly it was adopted and knew pretty quickly it was going to be over very shortly.

the one saving grace is that I went to school in Lowell which is roughly measured in temperatures seen in the Artic Circle or on warm days on Mars...so I could get away with it. But I never went and replaced my wardrobe with flannel as a fashion statement.
I admit I cried a little when that last shirt was tossed.
