I am humbled and thankful for the gifts you sent. Thank you so very much. We all thank you very much, and hope you are having a very Merry Christmas.
So what did I get? Well...
I got a shillelagh. But not just any shillelagh. Meg sent to me a shillelagh that Bill had brought back from Ireland many years ago. Now I never met Bill, and I can't recall if I ever interacted with him on the boards, but by all accounts he was a wonderful man who was loved, and is missed by those whose lives he was a part of. Ashlee has an "endearing" heh nickname for me, one that i've probably earned on occasion if i'm being honest, and that is her "emotional robot." Well, let me just say that even emotional robots can be affected by the dustiness of a room. Even now, typing this out, I feel dust particles affecting my inner wirings. Meg, thank you so much for this gift, not only is it cool (it's a shillelagh!), but that it was Bill's, and you have given it to me...I will truly treasure it always.
Also in the package was...
A crocheted scarf/runner(?) in the Green & Gold of Notre Dame! That will be draped over the tv stand during football season...and maybe longer!
A very cool gecko brooch made in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal for Ashlee.
A cool Mini Cooper Hot Wheel for the boys. Connor says "Look daddy, *I* have a mini!" heh
And a bottle of Scotty B's Nemesis gourmet hot sauce and a jar of Roswell Incident Kiwi Jam.
Again, Meg, thank you so much for the thoughtfulness, and sheer awesomeness!, of all these gifts. We all, Ashlee, Connor, Declan, and I, thank you so much and wish you a Very Merry Christmas!
