kudos to cody for not going for the pat "I grew up in one weekend" ending. however, the alternative is probably just as bad in this case. we get someone who not only didn't grow, but had her flaws reinforced. this might be fine (in a strict character study kind of way) if there was some genuine insight imparted along the way, or if it was an absolute tour de force of acting, but it was neither (I mean, she did a good job, sure). it was...nothing.
there might have been something there if her relationship with oswalt had room to breathe, but the plot strangled it.
