I don't bring really personal stuff here very often, but it's nice to give a happy-news update.

My cousin got out of rehab at Thanksgiving and I got to spend some one-on-one time with him. It's like he's a different person. He's genuinely excited about life. He's got a job with a company that hires recent "graduates" of the rehab center he was in, leading a crew of guys in what appears to be a very stable and fulfilling job. He's also a little fatter, but still in brick shithouse shape.

My cousin swallowed a bottle of painkillers because he'd rather die than admit to his family that he has a problem with drugs and alcohol (which we all knew anyway). He's in rehab now for evaluation. So please, if you know someone who might have a problem, be supportive. And if you have a problem, don't be embarrassed by it. People who love you will help you.
