*grrr* ok, I'm apparently going to have to cede a point to groiny sort of.

Looks like Kalish had *another* surgery in November and is out of the mix for the RF job to open the season. Which means that based on the current roster, it seems like Sweeney and Aviles would platoon in RF, with Aviles taking on the lefties. Darnell McDonald would be the 5th OF guy on the roster. Kalish should be back in Pawtucket by June and it seems like he'll only contribute in a marginal way before August and may take the whole year in AAA unless he's killing the ball.

Means RF is going to be a bit of a black hole production wise again in 2012 unless they go get someone, but they presumably sent Aviles to Puerto Rico to work on his outfield play for a reason, so I bet they're not going to do much. The question mark left is whether they sign another "bargain" at SP before the season.
