Its an establishing shot. How else would we know they were in Dubai, without the sand and the camels?

Actually, there's probably a lot of desert between Dubai Airport and Dubai. You don't build new modern airports right near downtown.

- Yeah - I just checked and you're right. I thought they'd moved out to Al Maktoum airport, which is in the desert but that only has cargo operations -- nm - Roger More Dec 29, 18:54
