It started a long, long time ago, during Thanksgiving, in a land far far away, in Los Angeles, where a female friend of 30 years e-mailed the boss to

catch up on what was going on in each others' lives...
He made the mistake of ending his reply e-mail with something along the lines of it had made his day hearing from her (I guess it had been a year or longer since they'd talked). That apparently was enough to set off the boss' girlfriend.
Fast forward to this past week when the friend e-mailed him to tell him she would be in the area for Christmas. He e-mailed her back asking if she, and her boyfriend, would like to meet up for lunch with him and his girlfriend.
At least according to him.
The boss' ex claims he was just making plans to see the friend without her. And that over the last week or so he's been seeing the friend behind her back.
She says that the other night they had a fight over all of this at a restaurant where they were having dinner with another friend that was trying to "mediate" the situation between them, and that she stormed out of the restaurant. She then claims that instead of following her, or calling her, he called the friend and went and saw her. How she knows this is beyond me, and I really didn't feel like getting into it so I didn't ask...
So that's it. They're done.
Or are they?
