I've never been to one, but since those shows have come out there are so many amatuers bidding the prices way up.

the thing is, there's a lot of stuff a normal person wouldn't realize is valuable. Those american pickers pull some rusty can out of a pile, turns out its a 1928 Indian Motorcycle carborator.
Would I know if this barbie is something and that one is not.
even pieces of paper, an old union card is collectable, old phonebooks.
You'd have to look at some power tools and decide if they are professional grade or cheap consumer junk.
