In response to "Don't get me wrong, I loved th Fighter, and would see this, I just have my doubts on another movie being as good as the first. -- nm" by MDH

Most boxing experts...hell...people with a pair of functioning eyes...consider those 3 fights...

the best of the generations. They are in the discussion for best trilogy of fights ever.

Gatti was a fairly decent fighter. He'd fought some names, held a belt or two but never really made it to the top and stayed there.

Ward was the lesser fighter. He'd held a belt but no one considered him a contender ever and certainly not at the time of the fights.

Gatti, I think, needed a quick impressive win so picked Ward.

Then they got it on. The first fight was epic. The word epic is losing it's meaning as did awesome but...the fight was these things. The simply battled. It was the purest example of the strength of a men's will to overcome that I've seen in a boxing ring. They simply refused to give up.

They then fought 2 more times. It was 30 rounds of massively impressive fighting.

The story of what happened to them during those three fights and after is also amazingly dramatic. I won't spoil it. The source material is there for one hell of a movie.
