So - the pic is of the town Christmas tree that gets put up on Main Street - with the Holy Childhood Church behind it - always makes for some good photo op's.
Well ... not sure how many may have seen the advertisements for Pure Michigan - I've linked them here before. Well - the little community of Harbor Springs is going to partner with the Pure Michigan folks on an advertising campaign - radio though, not TV - due to cost/expense - but the 20K we managed to raise for it - gets matched with 20K and with the success of the Pure Michigan branding - Harbor Springs will get some very prominant placement for the website - emails - and their marketing - in addition to the radio spots we will own to utilize on the markets as determined best able to serve our purposes.
SO - their "team" of 5 will be up to visit on February 9th and 10th - and in our meeting yesterday we began the process of preparations - plans on what to show them - who to involve from the Community - etc. etc. etc. - and one thing was decided was to see if we could keep the tree up and lit until after their visit.
It was a rigorous 3 + hours of discussion and brainstorming - and continued long after we all departed each other's company - and began again this morning with emails crossing back and forth with more ideas and plans. All in all - the group of us somehow manage to really mobilize and accomplish the most amazing things. It's like we all feed off each other and through the process arrive at someone who knows someone - or one idea put forth by one person leads to the next idea - it's all very organic with equal participation and contributions - no egos getting in the way.
Of course - my regular work suffered a tad bit today - which is why I'm going to again be in over the weekend and staying a bit late tonight to sift through some stuff and be organized for productive overtime tomorrow or Sunday.
So yeah - we aren't a freakish community that leaves their Holiday tree's up long past the event ... it was scheduled to come down I think today - and talking about it yesterday made me realize it would be a good choice for my pic of the day.
