As all of us Whovians know, the Doctor, played by Matt Smith, lies (that's rule number one). And so does Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat. So when this one tweet teases hints at a (possible) character's return to the long-running sci-fi series, we should take it with a pinch of salt, right?
The Daily Star is reporting that actress Sophia Myles (Moonlight, Spooks, Thunderbirds) is now being touted as the Time Lord's next companion.
Why is that?
As we said, the whole thing started when Steven Moffat tweeted this tiny bit here: "Right EVERYBODY who follows me, go and follow @SophiaMyles - spin that fireplace. NOW." He also added "I'll explain later. Or not."

If that wasn't enough, the whole thing became even more mysterious when Myles herself tweeted back: "Watch this (fire)place," and "The plot thickens..."
If you will recall, the British actress played the tragic Madame de Pompadour in the deeply heartbreaking season-two episode ''The Girl in the Fireplace,'' which was written by Mr. Moffat himself.
At the time, Russell T Davies was the Who showrunner and David Tennant was still the master of his own TARDIS as the 10th Doctor.
While we, like our colleagues over at Doctor Who TV, also doubt that neither Madame de Pompadour nor the actress is set to become the Doctor's next full-fledged companion after The PondsAmy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill)leave next season, we think there's small possibility that Moffat could be contemplating a return for the popular character.
It's also possible that Sophia Myles could step into the TARDIS as a completely new character (it's been known to happen before) orwhat's the more likely scenarioit could be complete rubbish; Moffat does like to play with people's heads.
What do you think?
