For a guy who's very likely on the Congressional version of Mount Rushmore....his presidency was a lot more turbulent through his own adjustment

periods than it probably should have been.

he accomplished a lot.
he also failed a fair bit.

but for a guy who was so brilliant as Senate leader, they didn't have the smooth relationship you'd expect...most historians put that on he didn't handle the change from Senate to VP/President well.
