She had 2 or 3 movies filming --- they had a weird Season 6 starting filming schedule; she probably wasn't needed on set.

they filmed the first 6? episodes right at the end of S5 for Fey's pregnancy iirc. Most of the tertiarty characters probably had commitments to film in the normal hiatus.
