a friend of mine went to see him give a talk when he was in college

talk about all his stage work, his career, etc. with one glaring exception. Then, at the end of the evening:
"And of course, no evening would be complete without a visit from...The Captain."
*sit up in his chair*
*straightens his shirt*
"Thank you."
...and walks off.
