I've been on Timeline for months. I don't see any difference in what is shared, only in how it is presented.

If you don't see your profile when you log in now, I don't think you'll see your timeline when you log in after the change. -- nm

It changes your personal profile page, but not the main newsfeed page where you view other people's stuff. -- nm
