When I was at home for Christmas, my dad mentioned that he had just looked at an old portfolio and saw his then broker had bought Apple for him at $14

a share. 100 shares. He had never looked at it or paid attention so he didn't reinvest the dividends into stock or ever buy anymore and he got rid of the broker. I was silently cursing him until I realized I've never bought any all of these years either and I know a lot more about tech than he does, which means I know something. He won't even get an ATM card.
