What he meant by that is simple. A business should do everything they can to make a customer transaction as simple as possible and thereby encourage additional business.
Over the past decade of watching the internet struggle with business enterprise, I've come to appreciate how few companies understand this and get it right. Amazon is the gold standard in this regard. Any number of brick and mortar web sites are a total train wreck. I don't think that is coincidence.
