In response to "oh, totally. this dog isn't going to want to go home." by Andie

He's smart, too, going for the good stuff.

We just had a fun emergency vet visit during the week from hell a few weeks ago. Murphy somehow got a container of fiber gummy supplements (which was out of his reach - or so we thought - I still can't figure out how he got up there and grabbed the bottle without disturbing anything else!), cracked open the childproof top, and managed to pry about 30-40 gummies out of the bottle.

In addition to the fact they were, ya know, all fiber (yuck), they also contained xylitol, which is toxic to dogs (we learned that lesson after he got into sugarless gum a few months back). So we had to bring him to the vet to get bloodwork done to make sure he wasn't having liver failure. Most expensive bottle of fiber gummies ever!

I thought we were good to go after the gum fiasco - apparently not, as he finds a way to get into things he shouldn't be able to reach/get to. So now, the Murph-man is crated every single time we leave the house, even if it's for 5 minutes. We just can't trust him any more.

At least Buck went for something good (and non-harmful) like steak! :)
