I just don't see it. If the other side had a young gung ho candidate campaigning hard on real change and who actually looks like he can relate to the

everyday guy, and whatever people say about Bush 2, at least he had a certain likeability to him. These two are just old politicians. Out with the old and in with the older never works imo. I think most slightly leaning right voters will just say to themselves, feck it, I can't warm to this GOP candidate and Obama in fairness to him didn't flush the place down the toilet. Better the devil you know and all that. So they'll just stay home and all Obama is fighting is a core conservative vote. He'll only need half the independent voters he got last time to carry this one.
