I'm all for simplifying privacy choices, but that's not all that's in this mix.

in addition to what I've already said, it's bothersome that they've made everything crossover. it's impossible to not have that between different accounts now - it's a variation of ip address tracking, but it makes it annoying (and more) for those of us who use different accounts for different tasks.
every time this kind of thing comes up, people say something like "there's no privacy on the internet" - but that's not always been the case. trusted providers changing how things are done is especially sucky.
