If you book too early, it means you have definite plans to go, so the airlines know they can charge more.

It's possible to shop for airline tickets too early. They take advantage of families with inflexible schedules

well like southwest's lowest fares at this point in the past have usually been between $99 and $129 for the "Web Specials"

they used to be clearly lower than the majors if you shopped early, but i think they lost their fuel hedge advantage last year
