They're still kind of trying to sort/work things out, but their situation was exacerbated by his son a couple of weeks ago; he was home from college, and overheard the boss and his girlfriend "making up" threw a tantrum and left with some friends to So Cal without telling his dad he was leaving. Evidently his son has told him in the past that if he had any respect for him he wouldn't do that with her when he was home. The son called him a piece of shit, etc, etc. it's all a very weird situation.
