So, yeah, hospital stays are kind of expensive.

Apparently the going rate for 2 nights in the hospital and a surgery is about $24k. Thanks goodness for insurance.

I did something similar walking down the stairs at work. Stepped wrong off the bottom step, crunched the ankle and broke the fibula.
