Alcatraz thoughts (spoils)

I like it, I really do. Yet, I've caught myself thinking "How are the writers envisioning the mechanics of this world" instead of "what's really going on". But that's OK, I felt the same way about Fringe at first, so ... I'ma risk it.

That said, should I be assuming that Dr Beauregard is the same age as he was at Alcatraz, or only slightly older (as he and Emmerson have possibly developed a friendship of sorts)? Or did he appear to be significantly older?

Dr Gupta was clearly the same age at Alcatraz.

I guess another question would be if Emmerson knows they were there, but I assume he at least knows that about Beauregard.
