Sure it does. The guy convicted faced two charges and was convicted on simple assault and will be retried for aggravated assault.

The second to last paragraph says he'll be sentenced in March for the simple assault conviction.
The issue with the story is that the simple assault charge isn't even mentioned until that paragraph.
